Got questions?
Choosing between the UK and US pathways is a significant career move. We recommend aligning your choice with three main factors:
- Destination & Lifestyle: If your goal is the NHS and a shorter accreditation route, the PLAB is your path. If you are targeting the US residency match and a potentially higher-earning clinical career, the USMLE is the gold standard.
- Financial Planning: The USMLE pathway generally involves higher costs, including exam fees, specialised resources, and the eventual cost of clinical rotations or moving to the US. The PLAB route is often seen as more accessible for those seeking a more immediate entry into the Western healthcare system.
- Academic Timing: Step 1 is best taken once you’ve mastered basic sciences, and Step 2 CK focuses on clinical knowledge and is ideal for final-year students or recent graduates. PLAB requires a completed medical degree and English proficiency (IELTS/OET) as a prerequisite.
In terms of prep level, the best path depends entirely on your target exam and your current level of preparation. Generally, our students fall into one of three stages:
- Early Prep Stage: For learners in this category, we focus on foundational tutoring and reviews alongside spaced repetition which builds long-term retention and gradually leads learners into other advanced stages.
- Mid-Stage: We prioritise score-building through timed QBank practice and targeted “weak-point” coaching for learners in this category.
- Final Stage: Our learners who are at the advanced stage enjoy high-intensity drills, full-length mocks, and clinical skills sharpening required for their intended session.
If you aren’t sure where you sit, we recommend booking a free 15-minute diagnostic chat. We’ll look at your previous scores and timeline to build a recommendation that balances coaching with self-study.
We focus on measurable outcomes for our learners. While “guarantees” in medical licensing are often marketing buzz, our results are rooted in personal journeys as we walk with each learner. Our system allows you to track your progress from your initial diagnostic through to your final mock, through which we identify milestones and development areas.
Most students see significant increases by staying consistent with our structured coaching and deliberate practice models.
Our sessions are built for everyone – both the very busy learners and learners who have taken bloc time off to settle scores with their exams. There are a range of options available to choose from and our tutors are hands-on, ready to respond to emails consistently and round the clock. We focus on high-impact sessions which have been tried and tested to be efficient in delivery of classes.
Our tutors are practicing doctors, high-performers, and medical educators who themselves have gone through the same journey.
Every tutor is vetted for their ability to simplify complex mechanisms and coach students under exam pressure. They undergo rigorous training with our academic leads and are held to quality rubrics based on student outcomes.
We aim to make the enrolment process as straightforward as possible. We offer several flexible ways to make payment at checkout but if you have any questions or issues, please reach out to us at accounts@praxler.com.
